Elections are held as scheduled by the Office of the Secretary of State.
The Assumption
Parish Clerk of Court's office is responsible for tabulating
votes on election night. We also conduct schools to become a commissioner.
To become a certified commissioner, you
must attend a class and have the
following qualifications:
You must be a registered voter of Assumption Parish.
You must be able to vote without assistance.
You must not be a candidate in the election.
You must not have been convicted of any election offense.
Pay for a commissioner is $200.00 and for a commissioner in charge is $250.00
if you
attend prior to election schools.
A new commissioner school is held twice a year. A commissioner-in-charge
school is
held once a year in November. At the end of a four year term of
the Clerk of Court,
everyone must be re-certified.
